The most convenient airports to fly into will be either San Francisco or San Jose. Both offer many flights from airports around the country. The cost to fly into both is similar but the earlier you purchase your flights the better. San Francisco and San Jose airports both offer rental cars that can be returned at the same location or at another airport within California if you will be traveling.

Searching for flights into Monterey Regional Airport is definitely worth a shot. Most flights from outside of California to Monterey Regional will require a layover.
